Home

Tired of wasting time planning and resourcing lessons for your supply cover?  Looking for quality teaching during your absence?  Need supply cover and planning is unavailable?  Then Creative History has the answer.  A history based creative arts day.

Example Days

Create a Magazine. The children and supply teacher work together to produce the components that make up a magazine.  We would expect the magazine to be 4-10 pages depending upon the age of the children.

Publish a short story.  The children and supply teacher work together to produce a historically based adventure story.  This is turned into a booklet that is later returned to the class.

Create an Art Gallery or Exhibition:

  • Roman Britain - dragoneseque brooches, beaded jewellery, design a house
  • Tudors - pin prick portraits, miniatures, illuminated writing, design a house
  • Stuarts - Wigs, caps and falling bands
  • Victorians - Decoupage, samplers, netting, wall paper, design a bedroom
  • Toys - whizzers, puppets, pop up dolls, peg dolls.
  • Leisure - two player games.
  • Textiles - weaving patterns, costume designs,

Something else?  Just ask, we may be able to help.

What we need to know

  • The age range of the children.
  • The most recent history topics they have covered.
  •  How much time is available - half, full or two days.
  • Type of day.

A series of practical activities will be put together to provide your creative arts day. You get the planning, display of relevant work and peace of mind that the class' time was well spent. The class gets a fun, stimulating relevant learning experience.

What does it cost?

A Half-Day is £120 + travel.  A Whole-Day is £200 + travel.  This includes materials and any follow-up work that the supply teacher needs to do.  Travel is free up to 15 miles from North Baddesley, Hampshire.
