Best quote "we thought we were coming to a noddy style talk and found a fascinating, entertaining expert instead". Food most wary about – compost ( pickled vegetables). Food most liked – losyne (early form of lasagna).
May 2008 Victorian Experience comes to King John's House, Romsey – see newspaper article. Step through the doors and into the Victorian workshop. No slackers allowed here! Be put through your paces by the overseers. Then put on your costume and assume your place – bread and water for you but you may watch the sponsors partake of roast beef as we tell the sad tale of Victorian life.March 2008, Exhibition at Hampshire's History Conference. Creative History had a stall and was asked to do a 10 minute presentation about what we offer. 2007July 2007 Hampshire Food festival - A Jacobean Food Week - talks, merriment and tasting of food from 1604 Romsey Best quote – "its looks poisonous but tastes well really lovely" . Food most wary about – the green pie. Food most liked – marchpane (marzipan).
2006Tudor Role-play experience for schools launched at King John's House. Walk back to 1571 and discover a house worried about the change of landlord. Meet the servants of the house and help them with their jobs before coming upstairs. After putting on your costume take part in a feast as we tell the story of 1571. June 2006 - Recreated a replica Tudor costume for Museum - 4 ½ metres of boning in the bodice, yellow silk under petticoat and mulberry velvet over dress, worn over linen shirt with blackwork decoration. February Half-Term ActivitiesIn February 2006 Creative History ran a series of half-term activities for primary school children at the Romsey Heritage Centre.
