Nov 2009. Celebrated five years of taking
historical characters into schools. Guests were treated to a buffet
lunch where each of the historical periods we cover were represented
by a different dish. For a little bit of fun folk were given the names
of the dishes and asked to label the plates of food.

August 2009. The Great Boat Race – a workshop
where children created their own Mary Rose and raced it on a local
river.

August 2009. Weaving Heedle Fish – a workshop
where children used hand sized heedles and a weaving technique as
old as the Celts to create fantastical fish.

History conference.

April 2009. Costumes on Parade as part of the
Costumes through the Ages Exhibition during the 'Romsey in Style'
weekend.

April 2009. Tudor costume exhibited in 'Cut Loose'

Primary – 4 page spread 'Tudor Thought it' looking at creative and
fun ways to teach about the Tudors.

October 2008. Started working on a Victorian
workshop role-play for King John's house based around the workhouse.

July 2008. Took part in the Hampshire Food
Festival 'Medieval Fayre' food tasting and hour long talks about
food from the 1300's .

May 2008. Developed a character for the Titanic.
Looking at Mary Davies' experiences from life in the kitchens of
titled master to her experiences on the Titanic and what happened on
the night of the fatal collision.

March 2008. Exhibited at Primary History
Conference.

October 2007. Created a Viking character –
Aldis. A daughter of a metal worker and trader who is accompanying
her family as they travel to trade with the coastal areas of the
Country.

July 2007. Took part in the Hampshire Food
Festival 'Merriment and Fayre from 1607'. As part of Romsey's 400th
anniversary we looked at food from 1607. With food tasting, fun
activities and presentations about food from 1607.

October 2006. Designing and creating a wall
hanging to commemorate Romsey's 400th anniversary of its charter.
Running a workshops throughout half-term for children and adults to
come and design, create and complete a patchwork piece. Once completed the
pieces were given to the 'Cut Loose' textile group who added them to
their own work to create the memorial hanging that can be seen in King
John's House today.
