Overview

Mary Seacole was an amazing lady but why is she so worthy of being one of the most famous historical figures? This course seeks to give teachers an over view of her life and achievements. In many senses Mary Seacole was a a lady beyond her time and discussion explores why she was so strongly disapproved of.  The theoretical discussion is followed by looking at ways to develop creative classroom activities that promote and reinforce children's historical understanding.
