Creative History
|
OverviewFlorence Nightingale was an amazing lady but why is she so worthy of being one of the most famous historical figures? This course seeks to give teachers an over view of her life and achievements of which nursing is just one aspect of this ladies influence. Equally discussion recognises that Florence was a lady of her time and explores why she so strongly disapproved of Mary Seacole. In addition to looking at how to extend children's historical skills as they explore this topic, focus is given as how to make links to other curriculum areas particularly mathematics. The theoretical discussion is then followed by looking at ways to develop creative classroom activities that promote and reinforce historical understanding. Course outline
