Feel
jaded about teaching the National Curriculum?
Need
to develop more creativity within History lessons?
Would
like to harness learning styles and
emotional literacy?
Welcome to the courses page on our website. Whether you are interested in
extending your own knowledge, or looking for ideas to brighten a history lesson,
we have something to suit you. Using a range of presentations and practical workshops, teachers build a
portfolio of activities that can be used in the classroom whilst extending
historical knowledge. The knowledge based courses fall into two
types. One type focuses on a historical theme, period or person whilst the other
looks at aspects of how to teach history. The next few pages outline the
courses for this year. Past courses are available as INSET.
We aim to show creative and fun ways of learning about our past!
What attendees have said about previous courses
Some folk like to know what other people thought of the courses before
booking. ‘Fun’, ‘inspiring’, ‘learnt without realising it’,
‘practical’, ‘accessible for the non-specialist’, ‘couldn’t
believe the time went so fast’, ‘would love to see you teach’ are
just some of the comments. To date, everyone on the courses have said they
would recommend them to others.
