What interested the children?

  •  'making the necklace with different beads'

  •  'all the games we played and the things we made'

  •  'the Romans put nails on shoes'

  •  'what they had was different to us'

  •  'the leather shoe'

  •  'how we made taWkes'  (Torcs)'

  •  'the bead game'

  • 'making shoes'

  •  'when we did the sdragon broacs'  (dragonesque broaches)

  •  'that yellow stuff in the box, what you can make stinks'

  • 'the things they wore'

  •  'when she told us what happened to the baby'

  •  'the hair pins made from bone'

  • 'the brouches interested me by all they things in it'

  • 'how hard it is to be  Roman' 

  • 'the fact that shoes, made from leather, were worn by the Romans. And the artefacts'

Reasons they gave to persuade teachers to bring back the visitor:

  • 'I would say it was one of the best visitors yet.'

  • 'making things, learning'

  • 'because it was very fun'

  • 'because we learnt about Roman people and Roman things'

  • 'It was a brilliant experience for us so come again'

  • 'would like to make a broach'

  • 'because you (the class teacher) have to do less teaching'

  • 'she was brilliant and I learnt a lot , so please invite her back again'

  • she was teaching us things in a fun way'

  • we learnt lots and if she came again we would learn more'

  • 'the reason I would give my head teacher is she (the visitor) gives us a lot more ideas of how it would have been in Roman Times.'

  • 'they're really fun you learn a lot and she can answer a lot of questions'

  • 'it makes you feel like you are really Roman'

  • 'she was really nice and acted like a Roman lady'

  • 'you find out lots of things and you can make Roman accessories'

  • 'that woman was really good, and everybody had fun'

  • 'you can see that I enjoyed it'

  • 'because they tort me how Roman people lived'

  • 'I would tell you how much I enjoyed the day'

  • 'I would nag and say lots of things why I want you to come back'

  • 'it would be very educational'

  • 'can we do that again because we learnt a lot'

  • 'because she was funny and told us a lot about the Romans
